BBQ party at Tenpaku Park

On Sunday, October 19th, 2003, the Chubu Hiking International Club (CHIC) celebrated its first year with a BBQ at Tenpaku Park in Nagoya. Some members arrived at the park as early as 6:00am to claim a spot and start the food preparations. By 11:00am, the food cooking and eating was already underway and everyone began stuffing themselves with delicious foods such as fish, pork, chicken, baked potatoes, various side dishes, beer, Chuhi, and what must be at every Japanese BBQ - yakisoba. About 40 people attended the BBQ. In the afternoon, as everyone's bellies were feeling rather full, we headed to a playing field where for most of us it was the first time to play Ultimate Frisbee. It was the dark-coloured shirts against the light-coloured shirts. I can't remember who won, but it was a blast! All in all, we had wonderful weather, food, and company. Hopefully, we will see even more people at the 2nd Annual CHIC BBQ next year!
